Privacy & Security
No — never, under any circumstances. Your PDF is loaded and rendered exclusively in your browser, on your device. Only rendered slide images in WebP format are transmitted to the receiving screen. The server acts solely as a connection relay — it never sees your presentation content, does not store it, and has no access to it.
Only anonymous usage statistics: number of sessions and device/browser type. We do not collect email addresses, file names, or any presentation content. IP addresses are hashed with SHA-256 before any use — we cannot link them to any individual. No tracking cookies, no third-party analytics.
Yes. All traffic is encrypted via TLS (HTTPS/WSS). In corporate environments where firewalls block direct P2P connections, the system automatically switches to WebSocket relay. No non-standard ports are required — the app works through standard 443 (HTTPS) and 80 (HTTP).

Technical Details
The screen creates a session and displays a QR code with a unique 4-character PIN. The phone joins via WebSocket, then both devices establish a direct WebRTC DataChannel — an encrypted tunnel that bypasses the server. Slides are transmitted directly, peer-to-peer. If WebRTC is unavailable (e.g. on Smart TVs), everything automatically falls back to WebSocket relay with data chunked into ~40 KB pieces.
WebP offers the best quality-to-size ratio of any format supported by all modern browsers. A Full HD slide rendered from a PDF weighs just 80–200 KB after conversion — small enough for smooth transmission, large enough for text and graphics to look sharp on a big screen. All conversion happens locally in the presenter's browser.
The system automatically and silently switches to the WebSocket relay fallback. This happens without any user intervention, in a fraction of a second, without interrupting the presentation. SyncBy!App works reliably on corporate, hotel, university, and mobile LTE networks.
Practical Questions
PDF only — by design. PDF preserves the exact appearance of your presentation regardless of operating system and installed fonts. PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides files can be exported to PDF with one click directly from each application, without losing any formatting quality.
Free plan sessions last up to 1 hour. PRO sessions last up to 4 hours. Before each new presentation, simply start a fresh session on the target screen — the QR code appears instantly, with no login required.
Both devices need network access — even via one participant's mobile LTE. They don't need to be on the same local network; they just need to reach the SyncBy!App server via standard HTTPS/WSS traffic. A completely internet-isolated network will not work.
