How it works

Under 30 seconds. Every time. In any venue.

No software to install, no account to create, no IT department to call.

STEP 1

Open a browser on the TV

Launch syncby.app on the projector, TV, or laptop driving the screen. A QR code and a 4-character PIN appear instantly.

⏱ ~5 s
STEP 2

Pair with your phone

Scan the QR or type the PIN in your mobile browser. Your phone becomes the remote — no app store, no download.

⏱ ~10 s
STEP 3

Load slides & present

Pick a PDF or photos. They render locally and stream to the big screen over an encrypted WebRTC channel, in real time.

⏱ ~15 s
You no longer need HDMI dongles USB sticks "can you email me the deck?" guest Wi-Fi passwords vendor accounts → just a PIN
Privacy by architecture

Your files physically cannot leak. Here's the receipt.

This isn't a policy promise — it's how the system is built. Slides render in your browser and travel peer-to-peer to the screen. The server only introduces the two devices.

  • End-to-end encrypted transport. WebRTC DataChannel with TLS/WSS fallback — even the relay never sees slide content.
  • Sessions self-destruct. Close the tab and the session is gone. Nothing to delete, because nothing was stored.
  • Safe on corporate networks. Standard ports 443/80 only. Hospital, bank, or client boardroom — no IT approval needed.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

Is my presentation uploaded to a server?
No — never. Your PDF or images are rendered exclusively in your browser, on your device. Only rendered WebP slide images travel to the receiving screen, peer-to-peer. The server is a connection relay; it never sees, stores, or has access to your content.
Is it really free?
Yes. The core app is free — no hidden costs, no account, no credit card. Sessions are fully functional and last up to 3 hours. Organizations that need self-hosting, branding, and unlimited sessions can get an Enterprise license.
What file formats are supported?
PDF and images (JPG, PNG, WebP) up to 256 MB. PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides export to PDF in one click without losing formatting. You can also select a batch of photos for a slideshow.
How does the connection work?
The screen creates a session with a QR code and unique 4-character PIN. The phone joins via WebSocket, then both devices establish a direct, encrypted WebRTC DataChannel that bypasses the server. If WebRTC is unavailable (e.g. on Smart TVs), it falls back to WebSocket relay automatically.
Does it work on locked-down corporate networks?
Yes. All traffic is TLS-encrypted (HTTPS/WSS) and uses only standard ports 443 and 80. When firewalls block P2P, the app silently switches to relay mode in a fraction of a second — without interrupting your presentation.
Does it work without internet?
Both devices need network access — even via one participant's mobile LTE. They don't need to share a network; they just need to reach the SyncBy!App server over standard HTTPS. Fully isolated networks won't work (unless you self-host — see Enterprise).
The fine print

Built small on purpose.

SyncBy!App is built and run by one developer. No VC, no growth team, no dark patterns — which is exactly why it can afford to collect nothing about you. The whole product exists because I kept watching smart people lose the first five minutes of every meeting to a cable.

If it saves your next presentation, tell one colleague about it. That's the entire marketing department.
